The volunteering form (volunteer types, your days, hours and availability), the code that signs you in, invitations to the events that fit you, and pausing them or deleting your details.
Open the Volunteer card on the home page (on the website or in the app) and fill in the form once; we then invite you to the volunteer events that fit you.
The form
- Full name and phone number (tick "This number has WhatsApp" if it does).
- Volunteer types: choose one or more of the kinds the organization offers, such as planting, design or driving.
- Days: the days you can come, Saturday to Friday.
- Hours: from one time to another, Baghdad time, within the same day, at least an hour.
- Availability dates: a start date and an optional end date (up to a year). Without an end date you stay available until you pause.
- City and notes are optional.
The code
If you are not signed in, sending the form texts a 6-digit code to your number. Entering it signs you in (or creates your account if the number is new) and then the form is saved. This way we know the number is yours, you can edit your details later, and notifications reach you.
Invitations
When the organization publishes a volunteer event that needs one of your types, on one of your days and within your dates, with hours that overlap yours, you get one invitation for that event in the app (and push and email per the notification settings of your account). You never get the same invitation twice, nor more than three in a day. Open it and press Register.
The Volunteer page also lists the upcoming events that fit you, where you can register directly.
Pausing and deleting
- Pause invitations: no invitations until you press Resume invitations. Your registrations stay.
- Delete my volunteering details: erases the name, phone and times of your volunteering. Your registrations and hours stay.
Your number is masked for the organization's staff; only those who manage volunteers see it in full, and every such view is logged. See the privacy policy.
