Starting in the app or on the website once signed in, a reminder with a one-tap payment link or a card subscription, and pausing, changing and cancelling.
Starting
Monthly giving needs an account so reminders can reach you, and starts in the app or on the foundation's website. It is due on the same day each month, and the first month is paid now.
- In the app: on the donation screen choose Monthly, then the amount and method, and press Start monthly.
- On the website: sign in, open the project's donate page, choose Monthly, then the amount and payment method, and press Continue to payment. You go on to the first month's payment page (or to the card page for a subscription). Not signed in, you see "Monthly (after signing in)" with a sign-in link.
If the foundation has not enabled any payment gateway yet, the donate page says "Donations to this project are not open right now." and nothing can start.
Two ways
- Monthly reminder, one-tap payment (ZainCash, Qi Card): before each due day you get a reminder with a one-tap payment link. The link is valid until a set date; if it expires you get next month's reminder.
- Automatic subscription (card through Stripe): charged automatically every month; it starts once Stripe confirms.
Managing it
- In the app, in My monthly donations: Pause, Resume, Change amount (from next month), Change payment method, or Cancel plan.
- On the website, in My account → Monthly giving: Pay this month for the open month, Pause, Resume and Cancel plan (it asks you to confirm). Change the amount or payment method in the app.
After cancelling, your past donations and receipts stay.
Missed months
If a month is missed you are notified. After 3 missed months in a row the plan pauses itself; resume it whenever you like.
You cannot switch a plan between reminders and a card subscription, or change its currency; cancel it and start a new one.
